Finally! End of 2010 Loot. and WIP progress

I've been waiting for one more package for the last 2 1/2 weeks, but its here now so that means all the loot for 2010 is now complete for me- yay!

I would've done a christmas haul, but thats not really impressive and a total loot post sounded better.

The 00 qan full saber add-on.(still need to buy hg 00 qan.couldn't resist; those clear green bits are awesome!)

BRS special edition Bluray/dvd set.comes with nendo petits and artbook.pretty sweet. the speed paint in the special features is simply amazing.

FMP full bluray collection.When I have time, gotta regrind through all of it.with tons of snacks & drinks of course.

And muv luv alt. takemikazuchi 00r model kit. Mitsurugi meiya's personal unit,yeah!!!(was also the last package I was waiting for,heh.)

Digimon Reboot Omegamon.Need I say more? its effin omegamon(or omnimon)! Gonna do a full paint run on this baby.so it won't be done anytime soon unfortunately.

HGUC 1/144 Sinanju. Aside from small gimmicks like the shoulder shield clamp or the beam tonfas being omitted, this kit is a mini mastergrade. the gold trim will be a pain, but so worth it.

And of course, gotta get the sinanju head base for my brand spanking new sinanju kit. looks to have some nice internal details to paint.

I love painting and puttin the work into making these models more detailed and awesome,but this totally isn't helping the huge backlog...

Yay, someone saw my want list post! Blazblue artbook from P@nD@.mucho gracias,yo! and to Sp1t3 for mediating things so I could have this awesome artbook to replace my old one. It kicks the old book's butt by miles.(still need to get the Uk limited edition of the continuum shift.want that noel nendo)

And someone from work got me a tonberry plush for christmas.it can protect my artbook,heh.

And kudos x100 for kaiyodo re-releasing all the gurren lagann revoltechs! And I already pre-ordered the remaining ones from hlj. Can't wait for them[>.<]!!!

Now that the loot posting is done, I can get to the WIP progress on the RG rx78-2.

Currently painting inner frame's mech details. gonna use copper,gold,and silver.maybe some gunmetal,too.

I'm trying to really show the inner frame as it was meant to be shown. Lots of promo pics show the under frame or "skeleton frame." The real grade is supposed to be a pg/mg in 1/144 scale. That includes an inner frame which shows off mechanical details. Just showing the base frame doesn't do this nor does it take advantage of the molded details of multiple pieces included in this model.

This shows most of the additional parts that can be added to make the inner frame much more "fuller." Here, the inner frame resembles old mg frames alot more with how the frame gives the overall shape of the ms without actually having armor on it. The mg rx78 frame didn't really have an inner frame for the head so this matches up pretty well so very cool.

These calf leg parts were the only parts so far found that had mechanical details,but couldn't be seperated from the armor in front of it. Still, some nice details that would otherwise be ignored with the base frame and would be covered up with armor and never showed off.

Note: I totally painted the calf detail with the wrong gray. It dried alot lighter than I wanted. Gotta look for darker shade later.

And while I was painting the copper pipes around the legs, one of the ankle guard frame pieces got into the paint bottle. lost lots of paint to fish it out. Got some discoloration now from the clean up now as well. lame sauce. I guess I gotta paint the ankle guard pieces with the gray I'll be using on the calves...as soon as I find a dark shade I like ^^;

Well, thats it for updates for now. Work was slowing down, but there's been a recent management shift at my store. and the new boss is completely incompetent.scratch that. He's an incompuCUNT employee. He's only gonna be there til a replacement for him is found. Who knows how long that'll take to properly train someone capable. He's at our store cuz he sucked at the flagship store and lost them lots of money. why he wasn't just fired-no clue. Anyways, I have half a mind to just take over for him just to get em outta my store. That or I'll have to clean up his messes and "backseat" manage the store and make sure it doesn't tank. Either way, doesn't look like I'll be enjoying that non holiday downtime just yet.

I'll try to update more on hobby work, but no promises. Least not til this management issue is handled.Til then, Later everyone!

GN Full Saber get?

Semi Old news at this point, but still awesome. Coming out in the February Issue of Hobby Japan,which releases in December is the add-on kit for the HG 1/144 Gundam 00 Quanta model kit, GN full saber. The full saber isn't part of the main story necessarily, but is experimental weaponry presented in Gundam 00V(side story).

The Gundam 00 7Swords looked appealing, but I just never got around to getting it. I like the overall look of 00 Qan, but not ,omg gotta have it asap vibes. This though? HELLS YES. I enjoyed my xn sword pack kit and this thing has clear green parts. So gotta have. Is the GN full saber on your GET list?

January 16, 2010 - Gunpla/Plasmo Project Status

So I don't quite have all the extra pieces yet for my upcoming projects, but almost got em all. Just need a few add-on parts. Still quite a few kits to do, but I'm kinda glad "the mountain" is slowly being picked off on. Its taken some restraints, but I managed to not buy more kits. I've been saving up to pay off some credit cards and to save for a big financial goal in the later half of the year so I can't splurge all the time anymore. A kit every once in a while is ok, but not 1 every sunday for 7 weeks straight! For now, I'll settle for finishing up these kits...then maybe I'm buy a new one.maybe. ;)

One CB base for cool base project and one 00 raiser for test type for experiment project.

No fancy extras here, its already awesome. Just a normal build. well, maybe I'll try weathering on this one.maybe. very cool and "loaded" kit. Would totally recommend to others to try out.

January 12, 2010 - Late Christmas/New years loot.bickity BAM!

So I didn't get too many gifts around christmas time, but I did continue to build up on mi loot all the way through new years. Even got a few things I didn't intend on. I'm more than satisfied. And that does it for my first loot post. What did everyone else on the interwebs get from the holiday season?(gift or self-gifting)

Finally got a fraggin tripod for the cam. Had to borrow a friend's cam for the pic. thought it'd be odd just snapping pics a tripod by itself ^^. Also got 2 new bases for some special projects,hehe.

RX-79G ground war set(great kit and comes very loaded) & my new HDD and enclosure. I bought it on sale on a whim, but now my ps3 is packin a 500GB drive and I have an extra 160gb external drive at my disposal,mwahahahaha.

One very much need phone upgrade. The motorola Cliq. Very nice android phone. CACA cam though. 5mp, but no good cam app so it doesn't focus. suckfest. and next to that is an Evangelion "pub mirror"(frame shiny shiny cel pic thing). I finally got around to seeing the series to see what all the whoopla is all about. Despite some major "WTF???!" moments, I enjoyed it and now want an eva revoltech.

And of course there's the 360 elite. I already have an original 60gb ps3(well, now its a 500 gb backwards compatible monster{>_<}!!) so I wonder if I'll be playing favorites with my consoles now?? That and I'm happy to get a hobby mag. total loot scorage.

P.S.-Shinji, you're one messed up @#$*&^.jeez. But your mom,err,eva,err,mech is pure win.

January 12, 2010 - A little old, a little new.

So I'm in the midst of reorganizing a few things( namely- everything). I finally got another moment to "breathe" this month. Work and everything in between has been readjusting as per standard after holidays manner so I thought I'd recap on my recent finish models: the RX 78-2 G30th anniversary edition & the 0 gundam.

I thought it'd be cool to have a bit of a contrast of the original gundam and the obviously design inspired counterpart. I did a vid review of it already, but I forgot to snap some "review-style" pics and I've already packed them both away to make room for the next project.

These few pics will have to do for showing both in action. Oh yeah, I finally got around to gettin a frickin tripod. Its just a desktop type, but it was practically free so woot. So no more blurry photos!(well, at least less. the camera got a tripod, but its still got the same photographer, heh) And later when I have some time, I'll start linking and adding a vid section for my review n' stuff. As for the 78 and the 0? get em. go now. and while you're at it, but me another one since they're so good and simple kits. thats it for now. later til later.

Oct. 04, 2009 - PG OO gundam images,yup yup.

Special thanks to Vandalier from Figure.fm for these pics of upcoming PG 00 gundam kit. I think this might've been at that demonstration display I read about earlier last month.. Or Vandalier is actually an awesome secret spy who busted into Bandai to show who's boss.Or I'm wrong on both counts. Regardless, nice to see something thats not covered in a drape or line art. Its lookin good right now. It should be due out soon. no pics of the clear parts,big close ups, or the special stand yet. I hear that normally, not alot of PG kits actually get stands so this model actually having one is sort of a big thing,especially since its sorta a dynamic "winged/binder/more space than land" kit so those in air poses will definitely benefit from a stand. Plus, with an inner frame,some electronics,sometimes metal parts/screws, I bet not just any stand will do. (not sure if that kinda price still justifies it though).Will look forward to more pics later as the release date approaches.
