February 26, 2010 - Iron Man 2 Comic series: War Machine

Last up is the bad of the baddest, James Rhodes' personal key to kickin your @$$, War Machine. This figure is one nice looking figure. Nice little details everywhere and raised edges. We like raised edges. It even looks like its got a bit of weathering done to it. very nice.
Articulation is lacking unfortunately, due to the design and sculpt. The arms do have the ability to have full range of motion, but is blacked by the shoulder armor. The armor can move up via hinges, but that looks unnatural. The musclature is very nice looking, but it does impede the range on the hips as well. The torso has the same issue as well.
The saving grace of this figure is its gimmicks. Being war machine. It has a double swivel shoulder mounted gatling gun & micro missile launcher. They both come with very cool effect parts just like the old toy biz marvel legends War machine. I'd much have those kinds of gimmicks than lame repulsor ray clip-ons or wannabe shield launchers. If you're just looking for a really nice display piece of war machine, this should totally fulfill your needs.
Next hobby related post will probably be about the xn raiser I've been working on.(yes, the same one that came out way back last year that I've been on and off working on.sooo lazy.)Til then, people.

February 26, 2010 - Iron Man 2 Concept series: Hypervelocity Armor Iron Man

Aside from the Movie line in the Iron Man 2 AF series, there's also the concept armor line which uses the designs of concept armor from the 1st film.
Here we have the hypervelocity armor. Very hard edged, sharp detailed. Lots of flat edges everywhere. less streamlined and more "meched" looking. It has a nice matte surface that really shows off its details.
Articulation is a bit easier than the mark III from the movie line. However, it does seem to have less range of motion. Besides that, its a nice solid figure. It looks great next to any other 3.75 in figures. Accessories include the standard base with armor schematic cards and the same gimmicky launcher items that came with the old 6 inch line. If only I could get my hands on the power assault armor.
Next up is the last figure I managed to get a hold of, which is the War Machine from the Comic line. Look forward to it.^^

February 25, 2010 - Iron man 2 figures: Movie line

A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to get my hands on these two little guys from the 3.75 in. movie line from the upcoming iron man 2 toys. What can I say? these units translate quite well over to the small scale line.
Articulation points remain the same and the added fun factor that comes with small scale figure increases as well. Yay for desktoys! The mark III looks great. details are very nice. Proportions are very good. The joints were really stiff fresh outta the box, but after some intense posing sessions, this little dude is just perfect. Joints are looser, but hold very firm. It still has the "hasbro" hip joints though, ugh. Most toys from movie lines seem to have these where Marvel Universe figures have pegged legs. However, at least this way, the option of thigh swivel are available.
The Iron monger is pretty much a spot on smaller scale replica of his 6 inch big brother. Very nice. Detail on him is also really great. For toys that are made with soft pvc for young ages and up, have lame accessories, these are really nice. Now imagine if a smale scale figure line tried their hand at these. A revoltech iron man? Imagine the awesomenesss. heh. Coming later, the hypervelocity armor from the concept armor line. Later.

February 25, 2010 - Delayed New Years

So I had to work on Valentine's and Chinese New Year so I wasn't really cool with that. I then had a really hectic work schedule the following week which gave me no down time so that was totally lame. Luckily, I finally got around to hanging out with some friends the following weekend. It was a regular New Year's, but I'm not disappointed.

Thought we'd take a few snapshots here and there. Sito's a total dork.
We thought we'd do some pictionary(no one ever played before)
Sito's thinking, " how the fuzz am I supposed to draw this??"
"Thinking/inspiration juice." This should improve my chances of winning and make things interesting.
